A tagboard is a great way to interact in a fun and informal way with your web site guests.  You can leave short bits of news or greetings, and ask your visitors to respond.  Your visitors can also easily interact with one another, thus forming a sense of community.  If you want to keep visitors coming back to your site, and want your site to seem open and friendly, try a free tag board and see if it helps!

Answers to your questions

Here are the most commonly-asked questions about your Free Tagboard.  If you have a question which isn't answered here, please contact us so we can add it.  Thank you!

How do I delete comments from my tagboard?

Login to your tagboard account and look for the "Edit posts" link in the top part of your admin section.  From there, you'll be given a list of all entries on your tagboard which you can edit or delete.  If you want to clear your tagboard of all messages, you can use the "Delete ALL posts" link instead.  Both processes are irreversible, so make sure you choose the right option for your situation.

How do I change the colors and looks of my tagboard?

Login to your tagboard account and you'll see numerous options for changing the look of your tagboard.  All colors are written in hex code; if you're not sure of the hex code for a particular color, you can check a site like Webmonkey for a chart.   Once you've made your color choice, don't forget to save your changes by scrolling down to the bottom of your admin panel.   Then, scroll back up to the top of the admin section and look for the link to Preview Your Tagboard.  If you aren't happy with the results, just keep tweaking the colors until you get it right.

How do I remove/enable the Profanity Filter?

The Profanity Filter option is at the very bottom of your admin page.  Check the box to use the Profanity Filter, or uncheck the box to remove it.

There was an old entry on my Tagboard that I wanted to look at and now it's gone.  Where did it go?

The tagboard automatically purges itself of all messages older than 14 days.

My website's been pretty dead for a while and now my Tagboard doesn't work.

The database automatically purges itself of all accounts which have been inactive for at least 30 days.  You'll need to sign up for a new account.

I want people to be able to write longer messages on my Tagboard.  How do I keep the messages from being truncated?

Unfortunately, there's nothing that can be done about this.  The tagboard was intended to provide quick and easy chat, not long conversation.  If you find your tagboard isn't meeting the needs of your site, it might be time to consider adding a message board.

Will the Tagboard have any new features in the future?

We're working on making the tagboard better, but it will take time.  We hope to be able to offer slightly longer tagboard entries, the ability to ban based on IP address, and the ability to add or remove smilies from your board.  Please be patient as we work these features into our budget.
